1) Overview

irpara.pt is a URL shortening and redirection service. We do not host most third-party content linked through shortened URLs. However, we take copyright infringement reports seriously and we will respond to valid notices by disabling access to the relevant shortened link(s) when appropriate.

This policy describes how to submit a copyright infringement notice (including DMCA-style notices) and how affected users may submit a counter-notice.

2) How to report copyright infringement

If you believe that a shortened link on irpara.pt points to content that infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated contact using the details above.

To help us act quickly, your notice should include all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
(e.g., URL to your original work, registration details, description).

  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material

    • the shortened irpara.pt link(s) you want us to disable, and

    • the destination URL(s) the shortened link redirects to (if known).

  3. Your contact information
Name (or company name), email address, phone number, and address.

  4. A statement of good faith
“I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”

  5. A statement of accuracy and authority
“The information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner.”

  6. Your signature
A physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is usually acceptable).

We may also preserve relevant logs for security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

4) Counter-notification (if your link was disabled by mistake)

If you believe your shortened link was disabled due to an error or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice.

Your counter-notice should include:

  1. Identification of the disabled link(s)

If you are in the United States: consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your address.

(You can adapt this clause to your preferred jurisdiction if you want it Portugal-centric.)

  5. Your signature

Send counter-notices to: [dmca@irpara.pt]
Subject line suggestion: “Counter-Notice – irpara.pt”

After receiving a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not initiate legal action within the timeframe required by applicable law (or a reasonable period, depending on jurisdiction), we may restore access to the link, at our discretion.

5) Repeat infringer policy

We may terminate or restrict access for users who repeatedly create shortened links that are the subject of valid infringement notices, or who otherwise abuse the Service. What counts as “repeat” will depend on the circumstances, including the number of notices, severity, and patterns of misuse.

6) Misrepresentations

Submitting false or misleading notices or counter-notices can have legal consequences. Please ensure that all statements are accurate and that you are authorised to act.

7) Third-party hosting

Because irpara.pt typically does not host the destination content, removing or disabling a shortened link may not remove the underlying content from the internet. If you want the content removed at the source, you should also contact the hosting provider, platform, or website where the content is hosted.
